Data Retention Policy — Thenee
Last updated: 29 March 2026
This policy explains how Thenee retains, reviews, and deletes user data.
1. Purpose
We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the platform, maintain security, process payments, manage disputes, detect fraud, support users, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
2. Categories of Data
We may retain account and profile data, KYC-related records, task and service activity, wallet, escrow and transaction records, notifications, support tickets, audit logs, and security-related records.
3. Retention Period
Retention periods vary based on the type of data and the reason it is collected. Some information may be kept only for short operational purposes, while legal, financial, fraud-prevention, audit, or compliance records may need to be retained for longer periods. Retention periods may range from months to several years depending on applicable requirements.
4. Account Deletion
When a user deletes an account, personal information is removed or anonymised where appropriate, login access is disabled, and connected sessions may be revoked. However, certain ledger, transaction, audit, dispute, fraud-prevention, or compliance-related records may be retained where required by law or legitimate operational need.
5. Security
Retained data is protected using reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and secure infrastructure practices.
6. Review and Updates
We may revise this policy from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes.
